Currently OUC has three campuses including Yushan campus, Fushan campus and Laoshan campus. There are 20 colleges and departments and one center for fundamental courses teaching with 67 undergraduate programs. The university has over 34,800 registered students, including over 6,600 doctoral or master’s degree students.

OUC is one of the earliest universities in China to accept international students (hereafter referred to as ISs) and one of the first 70 universities that offer students Chinese Government Scholarships. Every year, there are over 1,300 ISs registered at OUC as students for advanced studies in Chinese Language, for advanced studies in their disciplinary areas, and for bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees in various specialties, including Chinese Language, Tourism Management, International Trade, English Language, English MBA and Marine Sciences.

The International Education Center (IEC) is responsible for international student (hereafter referred to as IS) affairs at OUC, including IS enrollment, management and living services. The center has established cooperative exchange ties with many world famous colleges and universities, as well as educational and scientific research institutions, among which over 30 foreign institutions of higher learning, such as Cambridge University in Britain, Ohio State University in the U.S., Doshisha University in Japan and Inchon University in Korea, have built partnerships for joint educational programs with OUC. “Tailor-made” courses are also conducted based on the requirements of overseas educational institutions and sister communities. For example, the 15-week English-based “International Chinese Business Program” has been highly praised throughout the over-a-decade run. Joint master degree programs using the English Language, including “1+3.5”, “2+2.5” and “1+1”, have been operated for years. We also offer English-taught master degree courses in international business and marine sciences with most of the doctoral degree courses taught in English.

The IEC is comprised of the Admissions Office, the Management Office, the Administration Office and the HSK office.
