Teaching

1. Class hours for students for advanced studies in language: 8:00-12:00 a.m, Monday to Friday, two courses per day.


2. Class Design: classes for advanced studies in Chinese language are divided into three levels, including junior class (A、B), medium class (C、D) and advanced class (E), and the A1 class is for those who have not learnt Chinese before.


3. Curriculum Design:

junior class: A、B----intensive reading (10 class hours), Chinese speaking (6 class hours), listening (4 class hours)

medium class: C、D----intensive reading (8 class hours), listening and speaking (6 class hours), reading (4 class hours), writing (2 class hours)

Advanced class: E----intensive reading (6 class hours), viewing listening and speaking (6 class hours), business Chinese (4 class hours), newspaper reading (4 class hours)


4. Regulations on examination and scores: In general, midterm examination and final examination are arranged in the 9th and 18th week respectively. The final score for the term consists of three parts with daily performance (including attendance,performance in class and assignments) accounting for 20%, midterm scores for 30% and scores of the final examination for 50%.


5. Interest class: Interest classes are set up, including Chinese culture, tai chi, calligraphy and Chinese cuisine, to rich the students' life after school. Classes will be held in the afternoon, once per week.


6. Undergraduates and graduates: ISs are required to select and have classes according to the requirements of each college and department. Teachers in the offices of each college and department can be consulted for relevant issues. Teachers in the offices of Sinology department can be consulted for issues concerning undergraduates.
